Generation 1 – Part 1

Meet Delilah Beaumont! Delilah is the founder of what I hope will be a successful legacy. It’s my first time blogging so please be nice. I don’t like to follow rules because I always forget what they are haha, I will be following the general guidelines though. I’m hoping this will be a somewhat interactive legacy, meaning you readers have some say in what happens 🙂 This includes choosing spouses, suggesting spouses, choosing heirs etc! Well without further ado….

Delilah had grown up with her father in the city, but she had always wanted to move somewhere quieter. When her father passed away, Delilah sold the house that he brought her up in and bought a massive plot of land in Sunset Valley. It was a lot of money, but Delilah dreamed of building her dream home from nothing and being a Star News Anchor in her new neighbourhood. Her traits are Hopeless Romantic, Bookworm, Good Sense of Humour, Perfectionist and Ambitious.

With the little money she had remaining, Delilah bought a few bare essentials, and couldn’t even afford walls except to surround the toilet. She HAD to get a job, and so Delilah headed into town to see if she could get herself one.

As you can tell from her face, Delilah wasn’t too impressed with the childish uniform, on the other hand- she had a job! Not just any job, a job in JOURNALISM, meaning if she worked hard enough she could achieve her dream.

However, if that was going to happen, Delilah was going to actually have to be able write half decently. Her lack of computer meant that she had to take a trip to the local library. It was hard to concentrate though, as all she could see was an attractive blonde figure every time she looked out of the window…

He wasn’t usually the kind of man she went for. Delilah’s type was cute and geeky, and this man looked a little more…rough around the edges. She liked something though, because she couldn’t stop herself from looking.

Delilah, being a hopeless romantic, couldn’t just sit there. What if this guy was the one she was destined to marry and have babies with?! They chatted for a little why, and she found out his name was Dustin Langerak and he was 38 and unemployed. Okay so there was a slight age difference as Delilah had only just hit her 20’s, and she would have much prefered a husband who had a job, but nothing would stop love! She couldn’t just walk away when he could potentially be her soulmate!

After work the next day, Delilah headed back to the library, this time, somebody else caught her eye.

MAYBE this guy could be her soulmate?! And would you look at that, he READS! Delilah just couldn’t help herself, she was on a mission to find her true love and had to talk to this one too.

They talked for a bit, and even flirted some. Oooh it was tricky, did she like this cute, sort of geeky looking Christopher Steel who was an ORGAN DONER (:o) and totally her type, or should she go for the ‘opposites attract’ theory and go out with Dustin the older and the unemployed? Delilah couldn’t make her mind up, but when Christopher asked her out to dinner she just couldn’t say no.

They were going out later that day, and Delilah wanted Christopher to see her in something other than her hideous uniform. It took a while, but in the end she decided on a little white dress, let the hair down and ditched the specs!

Her efforts seemed to go unnoticed though. Christopher’s head was buried in a book when Delilah arrived, and he didn’t even look twice at her nice outfit or her legs or anything…a thought crossed her mind….what if he was gay and was just being friendly and this wasn’t a date at all? Maybe the flirting was all in her head!? That would be so embarrassing. Somebody noticed that she had made an effort though, Dustin Langerak.

He was sat at a table a couple of metres away from Delilah, and couldn’t help but stare at her. She looked even prettier when she made an effort, and he sure noticed that. Delilah was about to go and say hello to him before she sat down with Christopher, but somebody stepped in the way and got there first.

The woman looked smart, and would even look somewhat sophisticated if it wasn’t for the extreme body odour. She walked over to Dustin’s table and began complaining about the state of one of the waitresses, to which he replied ‘I know, love, it’s terrible’.

He had a girlfriend?! or even married!? This was so unfair.

She did look like a bitch though.

And she needed a shower.

Delilah could so still get with him! Just then though Christopher noticed her and shouted her over. They went in and grabbed their food before taking a seat at a candle lit table.

As soon as they had finished eating though, Christopher declared he had somewhere to be and promptly left. Causing Delilah to stand up andgo to leave too.

Dustin stood up though and took the opportunity to stop Delilah whilst his wife was on the phone.

“Listen, I just saw that…you must feel a bit crap.” He said, looking a little shy. Delilah simply rolled her eyes and nodded.

“Let me come over to yours later once I’ve took her home, I’m sick of the sight of her.” Dustin glanced over to the woman he was with, before smiling softly at Delilah. Did he just feel sorry for her? To be honest, she didn’t care, because Delilah really did want him to come round to her house later, because there really was something that she liked.

When Dustin came around that night, he instantly began flirting and putting on the moves…and with every move Delilah liked him more.

Okay guys! What do you think? I’d love any constructive criticism regarding the writing or anything. Let me know if you would prefer it in the first person, or a bit more casual or whatever. Now what I’d like to know is who should Delilah go for? Christopher or Dustin? There will also be somebody else in the picture next chapter! This girl really is very naive and believes anybody could be her true love- recipe for hearbreak haha! Thanks for reading!
